Woo hoo!! Sounds fun!
p.s. You have a PM. Nothing earthshaking, but not worth boring the kind folks perusing this thread.

i got to meet some real live jwn posters tonight, they stopped here and we met for dinner.
i was nervous about it, but they are a lovely couple, very intelligent and fun.
i am sure i talked too much, it was all so interesting -- swapping stories about our jw histories and how we got out and what we're all doing now.

@ Hortensia: "I guess you googled I Am and the St. Germaine folks."
Yep, Ms. OM pulled it up on her phone as we were heading along I-5. At first I thought she was either putting me on or had stumbled onto some satire website. We got a good hour or so of excellent entertainment added into an otherwise very boring drive. Reading about little people living inside Mt. Shasta that can turn invisible and teleport themselves at will was hilarious.
Then again, I suppose talking snakes and donkeys are just about as far-fetched.

I have no idea who you could be talking about.
It was great getting to finally meet you Hortensia.
My wife and I would also like to thank you for inadvertently revealing the "Real Truth" to us after so many wasted years in JWism.
The Real Truth is the "I AM" cult of Mt. Shasta!!
I thought you must at least be exaggerating a little bit, but no. My goodness, you are living smack dab in the middle of a very unique bunch of complete loons! Anyway, I'm sure you'll never get sucked into any more mind-control religions, so we're not too worried about your intellectual safety.
As for Queequeg's uncalled-for slandering of our innocent little pooch, I must strenuously object. Their cat shamelessly used her feline wiles on our little guy, even going so far as to nuzzle up to him, when in fact she was placing her scent on him to "mark" him as "taken" from other potential suitors.
All joking aside, it was a genuine pleasure spending some time with you and we'll be sure to give you a call next time we're driving by.
Best,
The OMs and pooch.
yay...my awesome friend justitia just found out last night she passed the bar exam.
regardless of how you may feel about her you gotta admit that is an accomplishment..
OK, now that she successfully PASSED the bar, it's time for her to actually go INSIDE the bar and have someone buy her a congratulatory drink!
Cheers!!

should a female publisher wear a headcovering if she is accompanied by a male publisher at a door step bible study?
when a female publisher conducts a regular ,scheduled bible study and a male kingdom publisher is present, she should wear a head covering.(1cor.
11:3-10)the july 15, 2002 issue of the watchtower, page 27, explains: this is a pre arranged session of teaching where the one conducting the study actually presides.
So, if the sister has no head covering with her, but DOES have some Watchtowers, is it OK for her to make one of these?

my first cigar.
not soon after i faded, i was on a company shindig and they were providing hand rolled cigars to everybody there.
i watched in amazement as this dominican guy rolled them in front of my eyes with great care and skill.
My wife and I enjoy sharing a good cigar together 2-3 times a year.
By sharing the same cigar, keeping it lit is not an issue.
She has a nice scotch while I usually sip on plain old Jameson.

danger witness robinson!
danger!!!
today i added a new article to my blog highlighting the danger of power consolidation along with an overt attempt to ready millions for obeying irrational direction from this power.
Excellent excerpts and footnotes Marvin.
I don't have access to WT Library while I'm at work on break, but have you looked for a particularly damning quote from an old WT or Awake! re: Jim Jones? Something along the lines of "putting our trust in a human who claims to have Divine backing is a dangerous course"?
If such a quote can be found, it would be extra powerful right next to the this latest pre-Koolaid conditioning article.

Q: How do you turn a duck into an R&B singer?
A: Put him in a microwave until his bill withers.
Bad...I know.

Hey there Hortensia!
Me, Ms. OM and our dog have been boogeying to the James Brown vid.
Hope all is well with you.
My family and I have GOT to stop by for a cuppa sometime. We go by your neck of the woods once a year. And I've been going a bit more frequently lately solo.
Take care,
